Update
Jan 21, 2003
The Charlotte North Carolina Club is looking forward to our visit in April, 2003. Our planned travel date is April 21.

This city, particularly beautiful in the Spring, is located in the Piedmont area of the state, about 3 hours from the coast and 2 hours from the mountains. Charlotte is called the City of Trees and had the first branch of the U.S. Mint. One of the highlights of our visit will be participation in the Mint Museum Home and Garden Tour. Charlotte is home to an NFL Football team, Nascar stock car races, a Performing Arts Center, many museums of art, crafts and design, and boasts a symphony as well as a dance theatre.

Initial cost is $125. Of this amount, $75 goes to the host club, $25 to FFI and $25 to our own budget. If the host club informs us of any costs we can expect during the visit, you will be informed.

There is a possibility for a second week of home hosting for those who are interested (in Florida). Ditto for add-on travel if this second week does not work out.

We will arrange our own transportation, traveling as a group.

Many people signed up at our Installation Luncheon as being interested in going on this domestic visit. This email is to give the rest of you an opportunity to do so. If you already signed up, please reply with confirmation that you are still interested. See below for additional information.

Phone Tree People - please call all those without email and read this to them, so they will have an equal opportunity to participate.

LOOKING FOR A VISIT DIRECTOR
This visit needs YOU to make it happen. Please let me know if you would like this opportunity. This is good training for a later International Exchange. A side benefit is that you may be able to earn your air fare, depending on the number of participants, and at the very least, the other fees are waived. Please email or call me right away if you are interested.

PLANNING COMMITTEE
If you are interested in working on the planning committee, which entails taking a task to make the visit a success, please let me know. Also let me know if there is a special responsibility in which you are interested. Some of the jobs we will need to fill are:
Treasurer
Meeting Chair for Planning Meeting(1) and Workshops(2)
Applications/Interview Chair
Travel and Insurance Chair
Communications: email and phone
Workbook/Biographies
Entertainment
Journal
Add-on Travel

We do not have much time to make this happen. However, it is local and we all speak the same language (more or less!). So please hit that REPLY key and give me an answer.

In Friendship
Arlene Lawson
Domestic Visit Coordinator
