FFI:
All Friendship Force Ambassadors are required to secure adequate travel and medical insurance to cover emergencies during their exchanges.  This requirement can be fulfilled in one of the following ways: a) through the Ambassador's existing insurance policy if it covers international travel,  b) through the policy offered by FFI, or  c) by purchasing a separate travel insurance package.  The Ambassador Application includes the following statement: "I hereby agree to secure adequate travel and medical insurance for the duration of the exchange."

FFLA:
It is suggested that insurance forms be made available at the time of the trip deposit (which may be quite early?) Some insurance has to be applied for within a certain time after that deposit in order to cover preexisting conditions.
