Friendship Force of Los Angeles Club Information

The Friendship Force was founded in 1977 with a single mission:

"To create an environment where individual friendship can be
established across the international barriers that separate people."

The Los Angeles Friendship Force club (FFLA) is composed of people in many areas of Los Angeles County who join together to carry out the programs of the Friendship Force.  We are open, curious, trusting, imaginative people of different ages and backgrounds.

FFLA began in 1985 with 14 members and now has about 200.

We host foreign "Ambassadors" in our homes or serve as day hosts or dinner hosts for them.  We share our lifestyle with them and welcome them as members of our families for typically a one week period.  We also visit other countries as "Ambassadors" and live as guests in homes of those Friendship Force members, sharing their lifestyle and joining in their day-to-day activities as members of their families.  We also participate in reciprocal visits with club members in other cities within the United States.  Since 1985, when the Los Angeles club had its first exchange, the club has sponsored four to six exchanges each year.

We also attend regional and international conferences and festivals all over the world to enjoy, celebrate, and renew friendships.  In addition, we make wonderful friends here at home within Los Angeles County by attending various functions sponsored by our club and by working with other members of the club.

In exchange for modest annual dues (click on Forms), all members receive The Friendship Force Reporter, the Club's monthly newsletter; an annual membership directory; as well as the opportunity to be part of various club functions, exchanges, gatherings, conferences, and festivals (click on Calendar for possible activities).
