FFLA Past Journeys


August 11 - August 24 - Los Angeles to Nova Lima, Brazil and Ribierao Preto, Brazil

Fourteen Ambassadors traveled to Brazil.  FFLA ambassadors were joined by members of FF Guadeloupe.

This was a two-week journey with home hosting by members of the Friendship Force clubs of Nova Lima, Brazil and Ribierao Preto, Brazil.

This journey was memorable and life changing for all!

This journey started with a visit to the Nova Lima, Brazil -- August 11 to 17.  We traveled together from Nova Lima to Ribierao Preto for the 2nd week of home hosting, August 18 - 24.

     Nova Lima is a municipality of about 87,000 people. Mining is one of the main economical activities, including the extraction of iron ore and gold.  Nova Lima is also home to Mata do Jambreiro Private Natural Heritage Reserve and Serra do Rola - Moca State Park.

     Ribierao Preto originated as an agricultural region (coffee) but is now a technological center and important cultural center.  The area hosts several preservation areas.

Blumenau, Brazil

14 ambassadors from Blumenau, Brazil were hosted by members and friends of FFLA and enjoyed a week of laughter and fun exploring Los Angeles.

2017 Inbound Hiroshima and Musashino Mitaka, Japan 

12 ambassadors from Hiroshima and Musashino Mitaka Japan joined FFLA members and friends on a six-day journey to explore and enjoy the tastes, sights and sounds of the Los Angeles Area.

2016 Inbound San Jose, Costa Rica

After a week with FF San Diego, 13 ambassadors from the San Jose, Costa Rica FF Club arrived at Union Station.  Getting to know one another started with lunch and tours of DTLA. The week was filled with museum visits, dinners, picnics, the Hollywood Bowl and the Science Center at Exposition Park.

2016 Outbound Long Island, New York

FF members from Iowa, Florida and Canada joined FFLA on a journey to LI NY.  Our LI hosts provided a week of FF hospitality with visits to Fire Island, Westbury Gardens and Sagamore Hill, the summer home of President Theodore Roosevelt. We also spent time exploring the Big Apple, including a theatre performance, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the World Trade center.
