Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival celebrates music of Latin America, particularly music of the brilliant Brazilian composer, Hector Villa-Lobos (1887-1959).
Villa-Lobos taught himself to play the cello and guitar in street bands and studied music of Western classical composers such as Bach and Wagner. He developed a unique compositional style that combined elements from both European classical music and Brazilian music. His compositions often depict the mysterious, colorful Amazon rainforest, as well as influences of Brazilian folk melodies and rhythms.
This is not an FFLA event and no RVSP to FFLA is needed. This is informational only.
